First Another hallmark of a successful affiliate programme is to make multiple resources available to affiliates, such as banners, videos, dynamic marketing tools, email templates, text links and data feed’s. These give the affiliate the choice of how to market your programme to their site visitors, include you in their email marketing or other marketing such as PPC.
As a minimum you should provide the following -
The data feed is used when you have physical products to sell. The feed can be updated automatically each night with your current stock, descriptions and prices and fed to the affiliate network for them to process into an affiliate feed. Many super affiliates use data feeds to populate their sites. Contact your affiliate network for information on the format of the feed.
Each banner can be animated and if so, should be no longer than 4 slides. A generic set of banners should be created and optionally a set for each of your main promotions such as Sale periods, Christmas or other key selling periods in the year. It’s optional to include a set of banners for each of your main categories as this will give more choice to affiliates and more relevant traffic for your site.
Keep an eye on your affiliate resources as if they go out of date your affiliates will drop your programme like a stone.
